Tonight's Severe Weather (April 18th)

Forecast for Starkville: There is a moderate risk for severe weather this evening per the Storm Prediction Center. You can find a summary of the weather below:

Thursday, April 17th:
Peaks of sun appear likely this afternoon with daytime heating able to burn off a good bit of the cloudiness. This sunlight will aid in the possibility of isolated severe thunderstorms this evening with the main squall line arriving later tonight. High of 86 is expected, with a steep decline in temperature with the the arrival of the rain and subsequent wind shift to the north, with possibly temperatures in the 40's by Friday morning.

Here's an image of the 11:30 AM SPC outlook, including Starkville in the moderate risk for Severe storms:

Severe straight line winds are currently the main threat associated with the squall line coming through later tonight, however if any isolated thunderstorms are able to form ahead of the squall line the potential for tornadoes, perhaps strong, increases.
